3.0 Duramax Oil Catch Can Install

Excellent setup. I purchased the VSE Catch Can. I have the additional wiring harness over the battery near the firewall. This is not present on the vehicle used in the installation manual. The only way I could get the catch can in the mounting position was to remove the passenger side wheel, wheel liner, and insert from the bottom. VSE states it wouldn't interfere with the wiring harness, but I disagree. There is rubbing between the hoses and harness and I decided to abort the installation.
Which catch can was used for this install? I am very interested adding this to my truck (2021 GMC with ~40K).

Crap. I ordered the vse for my 21 as well. Guess I need to pop the hood.

I ran into the same issue with my truck and informed VSE of this. They then informed me that their oil catch can wouldn’t interfere with the harness, but due to my own R&D I had figured out that those oil catch can hoses would rub up against the harness. So, I am currently in the process of creating an oil catch can for people in our situation and hopefully offer them at less of a cost.

I would like to be added to those notified when your catch can becomes available. After reviewing your photographs, I am impressed with your placement, plumbing, and aesthetics of the setup. I consider this a necessary option for our trucks. Thanks for sharing.

I’m not aware of any others that have been released. Got notified today the vse can will be here Fri. Guess I’ll try it out

No other options as of yet. This is why I created my own and will be selling them soon.

I am picking up my new at4 Saturday. Would installing the catch can void any of the warranty?

According to VSE:

• Will not void any warranty

But they also said it would mount in my truck without rubbing the wiring harness.

I would like to be added to those notified when your catch can becomes available. I not waiting on VSE two to three months wait time either. Your are a smart man and with demand high for the product with a available supply could make you wealthy also.. I would be glad to install and report back with your product. I have 2023 Denali 1500 3.0 LZ0 11,200 miles 5 Nox sensors later , since new may help with that issue also..

2000 miles since I’ve installed the oil catch can and this is how much oil I’ve prevented from going into the motor. About to do an oil change and will try to report back on the following oil change

That’s just after 2,000 miles? What is your total mileage?

Total mileage is 47k.

I was able to install the vse catch can a week or so ago. So far so good. No issues with it.

I finally got all the parts in to make a few oil catch can kits. These are the four colors that’ll be offered and all kits will be using AN fittings instead of rubber hoses with worm clamps.
Which color would you pick if you were to buy a kit?
