'25 AT4X AEV Edition front/rear bumper add on lights

When he asked how you had your wired up, I thought you just had them wired up to your Garmin PowerSwitch. However you jazzed it all up with your NASA inspired wiring lol.
I did not use a Garmin PowerSwitch or any Powerswitch; built it pretty much from the ground up and it works as designed in my truck's environment. My tailgate open alarm (left open or accidently opened) is something else I built from the ground up; it was quite fiddly and needed micro surgery/soldering and all, definitely not for the fainthearted. Still have a few truck projects to start, have all the parts however I'm so busy with work and other interests, just haven't had the time.

I predate NASA :ROFLMAO:

I looked up the options. Is there a way to tie them into the cargo lights for use when not in reverse?
Pod holes sells a light harness that is triggered by the bed cargo lights

Thank you all for the inputs. Pondering on this more. I’m going to try and run either a switch panel or up fitter switches. My goals are to get front and rear pods and want more situational control of the lighting.

I’m in the planning stages of a few upgrades and saw this older thread. Hoping maybe this will help others.

I used a couple of wiring kits from SPV for my Bronco. On the rear I had an aftermarket bumper with BD Squadrons. One harness tied into the rear tail lights and kicked on the lights when I put in reverse. The second tied into the first and then I ran inside the driver side frame rail from rear bumper then snaked out & up into the hood where I used the factory upfitter switches to give me manual control of the lights via an AUX switch.

So I had both options, auto on in reverse & at will via an AUX switch.

The harnesses were fantastic. High quality with OEM plugs into the main system and either weatherpack (BD lights) or deutsche (Diode Dynamics & Rigid lights) weatherproof connectors back to the lights so no cutting was needed.

Reverse light harness:

Full length harness for AUX switch control:

For the front, I had another aftermarket bumper and 2 more BD Squadrons. My factory bumper had wimpy fog lights but I liked how it used the OEM button on the dash to toggle on/off the fogs. So here I optioned to buy a harness that plugged into the BD lights using weatherpack connectors and then used an OEM plug to retain my factory fog light button. It saved an AUX switch on my upfitter panel and functioned just like OEM.

Initially I bought from a different company (4x4truckleds) and the owner was a real clown to me because I bought my lights elsewhere. At the time I didn’t know of better options and spent the $20 on his harness and then when I did the rears learned about SPV. Needless to say I don’t use or recommend the first guy. SPV on the other hand has been top shelf the entire way and the harness quality is actually better (thicker wire, better protective sheathing, etc).

Front fog light harness (verify GMC fitment w/ SPV; may need a different specific kit):

SPV offers a lot more on the wiring side and even has lights, brackets, kits, etc. Although this next link is from a Bronco forum a lot of this is universal and better illustrates their depth of product.

Also it appears that AEV makes a wiring harness that allows on, off & reverse light functionality.

Kind of pricey & requires cutting a hole in your dash for the switch. But in fairness unless you install the GM upfitter switches or use an aftermarket switch controller then you won’t get on/off functionality at will.

Personally I would run an AUX switch solution of sorts. I’m not impressed with GM’s upfitter solution. It’s very half baked compared to what I had in my Bronco where the vehicle was prewired, had the switches built into the interior, had various tie in points, etc.

While I really prefer hard wires & physical buttons I’ve been eyeballing the Garmin PowerSwitch. You can keep wiring under the hood and then use the app on CarPlay (or Android) for button controls and to keep your interior clean & sleek.

It is also really simple to get both functions, auto reverse and control activated reverse lights without an expensive harness set up. You can have additional reverse lights tied to your Upfitter or aftermarket switch solution then also tap the reverse signal on the trailer lights harness. Run both inputs to a 2 in 1 out diode, and the out side to your lights. Nothing else needed.
