Looking at the Borla for my 6.6. I am wondering if the part GM sells is the same as the one from Borla? Borla wants $1233 and GM is $1999. A few bucks more for the black tip.

Yes its the Same, Standard manufacturer price increase.... Buy from Borla or have a local shope make one for you

I don't believe so. As you acknowledge they are fairly price fixed. I looked extensively before I went to my local shop.

Just watched this video of a GM Borla exhaust on a 2024 HD. It appears the GM part # is a different exhaust than the one available from Borla. In the video there is a resonator on the Front Pipe Assembly and the muffler is a single piece. The one I have on hand from Borla has a straight Front Pipe and "double" muffler.

I just cut out the stock exhaust muffler then welded in a big body Magnaflow, then dump. I have done this on my last 4 trucks. I prefer a clean look out back. No visible pipes. I will get a video soon.

Finally got my Borla exhaust installed today. I have access to a lift but tried and it was occupied with someone doing a job that was going to take a while so with help I made one cut and was able to get the factory system off in the driveway. 45 minutes total and that included a lot of debate over where to cut it. Would have been less than 30 on the lift.

I have to say the sound at idle is quieter than expected and the sound at half throttle acceleration is more than I expected. I am certainly going to like it but some passengers may not. Dont really care.

Did you do a kit of just muffler?

I love hearing that 6.6 sing on the inside. I really thought my wife would say something, but not her first rodeo I guess. She loves this truck. She can love it. She just can't drive it!

Both our 1500 with the 5.3 and this 2500 with the 6.6 did just a muffler delete. Sound just right to me. The cats knock enough of the bark out, leaves just a nice rumble rolling out the tail pipe. The only upgrade we did with the 2500 is put a stainless tip on just to dress it up a little.
