My friend had a High Country 6.2 with about 10K on it and it dropped a lifter on a cross country trip. He had it towed and took a week to fix it. The mechanic at the dealership told him to get a DFM disabler and he shouldn't have any more issues.I agree. There are those cases of 6.6 failures. But it seems the 6.2 is really a bit of a problem child. In my opinion, it's the DFM system. My mechanic mind can totally see why and how the failures happen. When I had a 5.3 with the auto stop and the DFM system I did everything I could to over ride those systems.
