Hi, my name is Alex. I purchased a GM 6.2 AT4X IN 2023. I love the truck but after 16000 miles on the way to go to a camping trip the Engine seized. After 3 month of backk and force to the dealer ship, the engine has been replaced but since then I have had a few Problem with other component. I am in Denver Colorado.
This is to everyone who had have issues with that 6.2 Engine. Please lets get together and see if we can do anything about it with GM. Please Advise to see what are the choices.

Sorry to read about this again. 😪

That sucks, I'm sorry for all the troubles. Mine has been flawless since my purchase. Hopefully I won't have any issues. Seems like the luck of the draw.

Sorry about your troubles…the 6.2 is such a gamble it’s just not worth it in my opinion. Your probably better off trading it for the 3.0 AT4X.

Looking at all the brands, GM, Ford, Ram, Toyota, each one has their own set of issues with their trucks. Like i said its all the luck of the draw. Ford has its engine on transmission issues, Ram has their transmission issues, Toyota's have their engine issues. So when you look at the trucks pick one and just hope you don't have any issues.

Lots of people have had this exact same issue with the latest GM V8 gas seizing up on them while driving. My buddy's wife was going down a hill when her 23 Yukon seized up.

If you want GM reliability you'll have to go back to pre 2007. Anything made after that is wishy washy. Id especially stay away from the DFM based engines. The 2007-2020 can be quite reliable if you invest into AFM and vvt removal.

There isn't a single manufacturer right now in the SUV / 1500 truck market that has anything reliable anymore. Nissan was the last one standing with the titan that is now discontinued. Toyota you'll have to buy 21 or older for the V8. I wouldn't touch a new toyota today. We can all thank the communists in the EPA for ruining reliability.

3.0 has had its own share of issues. All trucks built the last 4 years have issues

I do believe the 6.6L gas 2500 hasn’t had any failures…I’ve seen some YouTube videos saying there have been cases of oil consumption when towing heavy, but I’ve not seen a video or fourm thread of someone personally complaining about their specific truck having this problem.

I admit I phrased my statement wrong..I should have said I hadn’t heard of any 6.6L gas failures, but obviously there is always going to be a few but not even in the same universe as that shit 6.2L motor.

I agree. There are those cases of 6.6 failures. But it seems the 6.2 is really a bit of a problem child. In my opinion, it's the DFM system. My mechanic mind can totally see why and how the failures happen. When I had a 5.3 with the auto stop and the DFM system I did everything I could to over ride those systems.

Yours is flawless because you are using a DFM/AFM disabler. That prevents dropping lifters and seizing engines. Everyone driving a GM gas V-8 should have one.
