2023 1500 AT4 Makes a small thud just after stopping.

I might have the same issue, almost sounds like something in the truck bed making a thud. I usually can duplicate it after releasing the brake from an aggressive stop or slow speed braking in reverse. I have the 23 AT4 duramax, heard it could be the leaf springs potentially?

The dealer said it is the fuel and in a normal. I call BS never had anything else do it.

I got no help form GMC or Dealer. They said they have a bulletin out that this is normal for the fuel tank to make noise when full. BS

So now I guess GM just puts out a bulletin for any problems and poof fixed. Next will be duct tape

Hopefully enough people complain and make reports. Something is wrong with the baffles in the tanks.

I have the same noise coming from mine, sometimes it loud sometimes it’s not bad. Doesn’t seem normal. Has anyone found the fix? I have also had a ton of problems with the heat shield rattling and getting the exhaust right off the engine.

It is fuel in the tank. Does it on mine when full, till itS just under 1/4 of the tank. It is louder the faster you stop. Gm told me was a bulletin on it and it was a normal. BS

I thought there was baffles in the tank to stop the fuel from sloshing around. I had the same problem a long time ago on a Chevy (gas) pickup. Every time I came to a stop there was a thud and the dealer said it was the drive shaft, so they changed the drive shaft from a steel shaft to a fiberglass shaft and that didn't help at all. Eventually I just got rid of the truck and bought a cummins' and ended up with all kinds of problems. So, then I bought a powerstroke that I loved. I had that truck for 10 years before I rolled it. So, I moved on to GM only because I could get the employees discount (my BIL). So they just say there is a bulletin on the problem but don't offer a fix. What bullshit!

I am noticing a small thud noise just after I stop. Sometimes its louder than others. Almost feels like in the trans or rear axel.

Spray the rear leaf springs with some WD40

WD 40 on the rear leaf springs is the fix. I’ve had the same issue on my 2023 at4.

Mine is starting to make a pop or knock, coming to a stop or just fully stopped. 15mph and under it seems like. I can't pin point where it's coming from. Sounds like the rear sometimes and others sounds like the front. Doesn't always happen but is happening more frequently.

It went away before the service appointment. I had they check it out, but they didn't see anything loose. The sound hasn't been back, so I haven't done anymore digging into it.
