2023 1500 AT4 Makes a small thud just after stopping.

What’s your motor and bed configuration? I’ve noticed this on multiple occasions. I can sometimes recreate a few times when reversing. I have a 23’ as well with the baby duramax with the standard 6.5’ bed.

Same as yours

I had an issue on my old Sierra (‘01) where there was binding on the driveshaft slip yoke due to corrosion or lack of lube that would cause the same issue. As the pinion angle changes due accel/decel from start or stop, the driveshaft slip yoke would bind until it ‘pops’ and slip a bit.

I might have the same issue, almost sounds like something in the truck bed making a thud. I usually can duplicate it after releasing the brake from an aggressive stop or slow speed braking in reverse. I have the 23 AT4 duramax, heard it could be the leaf springs potentially?

I’m adding Bilstein 5100 and removing the 2” block this weekend. Let’s see if this elimates, helps or fucks it all up.

It noticed a small thud when i was changing directions, like backing into my driveway and the pulling forward to line it up correctly. It turned out to be my inner tailgate, they have enough play in them to move and make a sound when changing from reverse to forward and vise versa. This may not be what your issue is but it was mine.

I am thinking its the diesel in the tank sloshing when coming to a fast stop. If stop slow it don't happen and it seems more noticeable with a full tank.

Took in today, Got the call that everything looked good and is a normal noise. I said didn't accept that and they went back and found a bulletin from Gmc that the noise is a normal fuel tank noise. It goes away the lower the tank gets.
