I only very recently threw my brand new timing light from decades ago. It was still in its original packing case.

I run the xtool d8bt for all my scan needs. Will be upgrading soon however to probably an icon t8 or 10. Don't cheap out on these scanners is my advise to you - they're all very similar and it's a matter of preference.

Make sure your scanner has bidirectional capability.

My d8bt saved my @$$ thousands of dollars and zero dealer or shop trips as a result. Last save was when I was dealing with valve body problems and had many codes. This helped me clear codes and eventually diagnose it correctly to a bad valve body

I had the same thing on my 2022 AT4 and my sons bought me a scanner for fathers day worked great, I tried Everything nothing worked,with scanner it took a couple of minutes Oldest son has the same scanner for his turbo Porsche with different software, You can buy more software for different car or different trucks

Just to give a quick update, I had to buy a scanner to clear the DTC and now I have no issues. Front brake pads show 48% and the rears at 100% as they should be. Thanks to all that responded and gave advice, I appreciate you all.

Hi all- was wondering if anyone has any advice as I am having an issue with my 2022 AT4 not detecting new brake pads. Just replaced the rear pads only with a new pad sensor. I used all GM parts, no aftermarket. Followed the correct procedure of placing the vehicle in brake service mode. Confirmed that it came out of service mode when I was finished installing the pads. The vehicle won’t detect the new rear pads to allow me to reset the pad life. Dash still is saying I need to service the brake monitor. When I go to the pad life screen, Service System remains on in red and cannot select “rear pads installed”. Truck has 48,800 miles on it and the front pads are still at about 40% or so. Anyone else come across this with any advice? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time….

Have you tried having the brake monitor system checked with a scan tool? Could be worth checking for any stored codes.
