What oil is everyone using

I am just wondering since mine was replaced in May 2025 if it sticks with 0w-20. I do all my own oil changes. One dealer service told me 0w-20 and one said 0w-40 and GM customer support was useless.
I have always done my own as well. But with the 6.2 issue I’m thinking about having the dealer do it Incase it ever needs replaced again.
But I hate the dealer and all the upsell crap. And I don’t trust them. LOL

Same here. I am taking pictures of my receipts and rolling with that.

Here’s a radical thought. Use the oil as directed in the manual.
That would be a novel idea if GM could find a way to make a reliable engine and not change oil specs for certain engines, through specific years. Not sure my manual is much use. Unless the Elf on a Shelf snuck into my truck and put a sticker with the correct oil to use for my situation.

Mobil one. Seems to be readily available at walmart vs some of the others (whatever the designation is for diesel). I'm a firm believer that change intervals are more important than brand. I try to change every 4- 5,000 miles, never over 5. Just any good synthetic that meets the requirements with a good synthetic media filter. I change fuel filter every other oil change (again diesel). Probably overkill, but good peace of mind for $20.

Have the lm2 diesel. Use to use amsoil 0w20. Switched to amsoil 5w30.
Oil looks great after I sent it off to a lab and the engine sounds better after switching. May try 0w30 or 40 but havnt decided. Waiting to what demonworks on YouTube comes back with. He's been doing a good bit of testing of different oils in the diesel.
