Stationary / off to initiate. Regen will actually start shortly after driving@Nwtravler
Will the iDash allow a forced regen while moving or only when stationary?
You can trigger either type. When the instructions say the truck needs to be on but not running, what they mean is turn truck off, hold start button until the truck systems come on but engine is off. Then trigger, start and drive.@Nwtravler

In the 6.6L, I can feel a slight constant vibration through the floor boards. Additionally, when I get out of the truck it smells like burnt rubber. Usually strongest smell comes when I smell between the bed and the cab. I don't feel it in the 3.0, but I do smell it.@gmarsh
I looked it up on line this morning, and it is the " DEF system warning light".
I thought this was indicating the truck was going through the regen process..
Is there a way to tell if the truck is going through a regen?
Thank you for your help.
I have the Edge CTS3 and love it! I now know the soot % in my DPF among many other things. A year ago I had my dpf plug up at only 29,000 miles and caused many issues that were finally solved. The upstream catalytic converter that is bolted to the turbo disintegrated internally from excessive fuel being dumped into it from the ecm detecting a lean condition. Long process getting it repaired, almost 6 months with 5 visits at 4 different dealerships!@R467X
I've looked at the iDash and CTS3. My issue is if either require an update, I don't have a computer to do so, and have used a real comp4in a couple decades. 3ven then, the whole "zip file" type of upload is foreign to me.
I.d proly go with a CTS as it seems a it easier on the eyes.
Emission monitoring is a must if you own a new diesel. I don't think I had 500 miles on my truck when I installed idash. Make sure you also monitor exhaust temps and shut your truck off if you go over 1300 to prevent catastrophic damage. Regen will come close to 1300 but in my experience it mostly stays closer to 1250.I have the Edge CTS3 and love it! I now know the soot % in my DPF among many other things. Your service advisor is full of shit! It is just a monitor not a tuner. Besides that there is what is called the Magnuson-Moss warranty acct. If an aftermarket part is on your vehicle and it is in for warranty work they cannot void your warranty. All they can do is deny the claim in question, but they also must prove that the aftermarket part caused your issue. He's talking out his ass! My truck was in three different dealerships after the initial dealership, where they failed to fix it correctly, and they all said the same thing. We have to unplug your monitor from the OBD2 port because we have to scan the truck for any warranty work. When they're done they may or may not plug it back in. They never said one word about any warranty issues.Well, i went in yesterday and they pulled the code.
It was triggered buy something that was way over my head, but it 2as cleared and they updated the ecm.
Runs fine still.
I questioned the service adviser about use an iDash or any system to monitor the truck systems.
He said he had been a service advisor for 13 years and had seen gm deny a claim and cancel a warranty for having an iDash.
So I guess it cant be in the truck if it goes to service.
On another note, I was able to pick up the Archoil fuel system cleaner I had ordered at the post office and add it to a full tank of fuel before a 6hr drive up to Albuquerque and back.
Sounds like it's time for you to get a new service advisor... 90% of those guys will go looking for blinker fluid if you ask them to.Well, i went in yesterday and they pulled the code.

Trust me, if it weren't for my 4500.00 extended warranty I would delete the emissions bs on this truck!@MotoXXX
I understand and agree 100%.
Im hoping the Gubmnt suspends all emissions is on these trucks.....Just my opinion, speaking to folks who have gotten rid everything, get better milage and the engine gobbles up miles with no issues other than maybe transmission......
