Well, I got my first one!

Driving home today on the highway and I hear a not so gentle knock on my truck and look up to see a fella dragging a gooseneck with a shredded tire and chunks flying everywhere. As I got on the peddle and tried to get behind another car as a shield, I look over and see the driver and am pretty sure he knew and had just decided F it. All that said, I got my first paint chip. Only through the clear coat I think. Any suggestions on what I can use to fill it in and keep it from growing are appreciated.

If it just the clear coat, buy some touch up clear coat. Apply a very small amount ( one very very small drip that just barely fills the chip. Then walk away for 24 hours. Then check it. If the level of the clear is still a bit lower than the other paint apply another very small drip and walk away. Once the clear is higher than the paint around the chip, carefully and slowly sand the chip area with 2000 grit paper on a small piece of hardwood until the added clear is at the level of the paint around the chip. Then polish with a micro fiber and a cutting polish. If done patiently and slowly, you will not be able to find the chip when looking for it. Then of course, get the front end PPF coated so you do not ever get any more chips.
