I used a WDH on my old 1500 Silverado for my 8k travel trailer. It worked well, so I wanted to continue using with my one ton diesel.
The problem I ran into was my reciever hitch on the one ton is nearly 10 inches taller than the half ton. Even after flipping the WDH, the front of the trailer was really high.
Last week I bought a Brok 8" drop hitch and the trailer rides level and there doesn't seem a need for weight distribution. The trailer stayed steady and there wasn't any sort of squat to the truck.
