Post an update if the dealership is able to diagnose it. I’m interested in knowing what it is. I’m one of those who obsesses over noises my cars make and spend hours trying to find and fix them.

Gave me an appointment for 5/24 for a service ride along.

Why is it that dealerships do this?

It is definitely not the tires....

I'm pretty ticked off. Waited two weeks for them to tell me that. Smh.

Well this thread will get a lot longer.

I will be using this as a log of symptoms until either I or the dealer figure out where this noise/pop is coming from. I'm determined to find it before them now...for my own sake.

I still can't believe they told me it was tire noise. But as I examined the service ticket, the technician did make note of the spring not "aligned" and "the main spring making contact with the spring clamp". But also noted that they inspected multiple similar trucks and they all were like that. I will swing by the dealership this week on the way home and look at a few myself.

Drove my normal commute home. ( dealer is less then a mile from where I work).

Initially, it didn't make the poping sound. But at around 130 degree transmission temp (not sure it's related, just a note) and while the truck got up to speeds around or about 45mph, the pop came back while coming to a stop. One pop.

Seems to happen alot at around the 12 mph mark or so. Give or take 5 mph.

This continues to happen the remainder of the ride home. Multiple stops. I can be on the brakes and it is noticeably lounder or off the brakes and it's faint, but there while decelerating.

Can't hear or feel it hitting bumps or changes in elevation. Can't hear or feel it on rough surfaces. (Gravel road).

It continues to rain here so I'm not climbing under it today. But I will be doing a though suspension review tomorrow and will be adding photos to this thread of conditions.

Then I'll have someone drive it and see if I can catch the noise from the outside. I am almost tempted to buy a gopro just for this occasion.

Hopefully this is something simple that I'm overlooking.

A few more notes to diagnose: This noise is present with any level of fuel or Def in the tanks. This noise is present with the truck stripped of any possible item in the cab or bed that could potentially make any sound. The truck is stock. I have not taken it off road or any under stress conditions. I can feel it in the brake pedal and floor.

Starting an actual thread for this issue. Truck is scheduled for a diagnostic service on 5/8 @ GMC.

2023 AT4 LZ0 Carbonpro bed 18,5k miles.

I have only started noticing this issue recently. Last week or so now. Issue doesn't happen all the time, but I would say atleast 50%+ of the time.

While coming to a stop with mild-moderate braking, there is an audible and physical pop or click that comes from under the truck. Can't pinpoint it. I've been driving with the radio off for a week and sometimes it sounds like the front, sometimes it's sounds like the rear. Sometimes it's after a complete stop, sometimes it's while braking at 15mph or under while coming to a complete stop.

I have gone under the truck and can't find anything out if the ordinary. Rear u bolts are tight. Nothing looks trashed from what I could see in the suspension side of things. Passanger leaf does look a little racked. One spring in the pack looks like it's sitting on top of the other 1/8"-5/16" off center in the pack. Not sure if that would affect anything.

I've confirmed this issue with both Def and diesel tanks at different levels, same noise and sound. No change in sound or occurance with levels, so I'll rule the sloshing around out.

Tailgate: I have watched the tailgate in the rear view while this occurs with not movement in the tailgate. I'll put it down and confirm it does it while the tailgate is down to rule that out. But I'm almost certain this isn't it.

I've searched extensively and have found other things like the slip yoke needing to be regreased, which I'll let the dealer dig into on the 8th.

Other things I've thought about are the brake pads moving around in the calipers. But when this happens, the brakes have already been applied. So I feel like the click/pop would be as you are applying the brakes or just letting off of them?

I'll try to take a video of the noise on the ride home today.

Anybody have a similar issue?

The shutter opens and closes to allow better aerodynamics for fuel mileage reasons they claim. Apparently, in my case, that shutter was opening onto the horn backet. Making a popping noise just like the video in this thread. The mechanics at my dealership couldnt resolve the issue initially so they had a gm tech fly in to take a closer look. Took a few days for him to pinpoint. Hope this helps!
