When I was in high school, I had a 1990 Mustang 5.0. I remember one of the best bang-for-your-buck mods I ever did was install underdrive pulleys.

It was a couple pulleys iirc. Maybe 3 of them. Smaller crank pulley did most of the work. It made it easier for the crank pulley to spin the rest of the pulleys.

The other pulleys I believe were a small alternator pulley and maybe water pump so that they still spun fast enough at idle.

I distinctly remember putting them on then taking the car for a rip and being really surprised how much it woke the car up.

Engines and systems are much more complicated these days, and messing with the electrical side of things (a slow spinning alternator, for example) can really throw things off.

But I’m surprised I haven’t come across a set of pulleys for these trucks. Anyone know if that’s still a thing and if so, who makes a set that won’t throw codes or cause issues??
