Apparently it's a J case or M case fuse. Cant find a compatible switch.

I want to do this now. Simple rocker switch right on the fuse cover panel.

There is an alert for both tailgates down but not for the upper tailgate only down so there is a sensor, GM just needed to program an alert.

The only time I have seen that is when they were both down and I understand that, it hangs low. Now Im not sure if it does it if only the inner is down.

I think I found a solution. It looks to me like this can be modified and turned into a switched circuit for that type of fuse, just add a simple rocker switch.

I have a 23 and it says inner tailgate open also. It says that when I put lumber and rest it on an angle. I haven't thought about what would happen if the rest of the tailgate opened. That could be bad with lumber on the highway.

Just checked my 24 HD and no such warning or message displays unless someone shows me what I'm not seeing.

I must change my previous statement. I get get an auto warning with the inner tailgate down regardless of the position of the big tailgate. The real problem of course is driving with them both down.
