Transmission Valve Unit issues?

I have a 23 3.0L with 26k miles. Never towed and baby the truck. Just dropped it off at the dealership yesterday and this was the diagnoses. They said it’s happening a lot right now and I may have to wait up to 3 months to get it fixed.
Talked to GM today about them reimbursing my monthly payment and they said they would do it.

I haven't heard of this happening to 1500's as much as 2500/3500 so this is news to me. Bad news for GM. They can produce x amount of vehicles daily but those with them already gotta wait for the part 3 months. Crazy stuff.

I wonder what they'd do for those of us who have the truck paid off. My monthly payment would've been $1600 if I didn't pay it off the first month

Great news! After requesting GM reimburse me for my truck payments, they were miraculously able to get my replacement part and get my truck fixed and back to me in 1 week. Dealership said they received 7 valve body replacement parts and mine was one of them. Dealership also mentioned that there were 12 more trucks still waiting for the part on the lot. This should be a recall at this point.

Very good. Hopefully the new part has something updated in it that this doesn't happen to you again. You should consider contacting the NTSB to get this on the radar. They'll force GM

Just happened to my 23 3.0L with 26k miles. Bought it new and truck has been babied. This is my business vehicle so now I’m out a truck for up to 3 months. All the dealership is offering is some small rental. There has to be a better option for GM then shelling out all this cash to have trucks sitting around dealership lots waiting on a new part.

Hello everyone,

I have a 2022 Sierra AT4 that in the last few weeks has given me a message of Warning! Reduced acceleration. Drive with care.
At that point the truck seems to rev slightly higher than normal and does not shift past a certain gear. As the revs are slightly higher shifting between P, N, R, and D is a touch jerky. You can restart the truck and the issue goes away.
Took it to the dealership and after a couple of days I got told that it is apparently an issue with the Transmission Valve Unit.
The issue is that apparently there are no spare parts available in Canada or the US at the moment. Time to get it fixed is unknown.
Has anyone experienced this issue?
I need this truck for work and I’ve heard horror stories about people not having their truck for several months.

Any insight and advice how to address this with GM would be immensely appreciated.
Hello same here

my at dealership since May and still waiting,

On the way to work last week, pulled over to get a snack. Jumped back in and started it and loud clatter. Popped the hood to see if I could pinpoint it.
Chevy dealer 1/2 miles down the road, mechanic dropped transmission pan the next day and pump was gone and metal parts in pan. It’s a 21 w/ 3.0 at 76,000 miles. Ordered new transmission which will arrive in 2 days. Tech said it was hell to get parts.
Question is, I asked them to give me a quote on changing out the oil pump while transmission is out. I’m not going to keep the truck probably pass 100k miles, but I thought it would be a good selling point when I do sell it.
Quote came back at $900. Does that sound reasonable?
Everything else is covered under the 100k warranty.
This is video clip from wheel well at time of failure
