Tow Ratings

The Duramax is slightly different and my AEV edition is has lower ratings than non AEV. I may get to tow a boat over the holiday weekend.

Your gooseneck rating is odd, lower than conventional tow. Must have something to do with the wheel and tire package for axle loading.

Diesels usually weigh more but AEV steel bumpers, skid plates etc, add to overall weight, despite its 470hp and 974ftlb torque is more than enough to propell it forward like a sports car. I rarely carry a load or pull anything but its nice to know I can.
Yeah I forgot you have the AEV also. Still a big difference.

Not sure how they calculate those numbers but I know I'll never tow a gooseneck for sure.

I will be pulling gooseneck for the property, pintle for utility and ball for the small camper.
I do need to install a gooseneck hitch though.
Below is my door sticker, way more than I need for anything I currently have towing. I want to say the heaviest trailer I have now is 14K.

No doubt there are much smarter individuals in this group than I. I will take a picture of my sticker, but I know changing tires/wheels can affect the numbers. Curious what I want to do calculations wise to get the correct max numbers for a ‘25 AT4 HD w/ max trailering pkg. thoughts?

Welllll, yes and no.
Some folks will opt for the sub 10K GVWR for tax purposes. Exact same truck as the one next to it with a 10K GVWR but with but less towing.
There is a good bit you can do to make your truck tow/haul better but you can’t change the door sticker.

Max trailer package is making a 2500 into a 3500. Just buy a 3500, either way the ride will be rough .

Correct. They both ride the exact same. I went gas 3500 as I haul more than I tow. This build worked for my personal use.

Edit - this post is over a year old... I am guessing you've chosen by now.
