Hello. I would like to know if anyone has had this experience with a noise in the steering column:
I purchased a 2024 Sierra 2500 AT4 last year. Recently, I have been hearing a "clacking" sound when I hit a pothole or if I wiggle my steering wheel. It is more noticeable when towing our camper. I brought it to a dealership:
First visit: They claimed the noise was from a ratchet I had in the door. I know that was not it, but had to go
Second visit: They replaced the intermediate and lower shaft; still has the noise
Third visit: I was asked to bring the camper attached to the truck. I did. technician roe with me and noticed that there is, in fact a noise coming from the steering column area. He looked around, left, and service manager came to tell me that the noise is normal
IMO, Heck no, it is not normal for such an expensive truck to have this noise, specially when hauling less than 50% of its capacity.
I am taking it to a different dealership and see what they say before I call GMC and whoever else I need to call to complaint.
Thank you in advance
