So, there is a 5 Low.

I live in the city. Of Atlanta. So im setting in traffic and not moving. Hard to imagine i know. Anyway, i decided to play with these paddles on the steering column and found that the truck goes all the way to 5 low. I took it out of low before moving at all but wonder if anyone has used this low of a gear and what for? Is it anything near as cool as what we called a "Granny Gear" where the truck would creep along beside you while you rode in the back and pushed out hay bales?

I’m completely confused by this. I thought that was just where 5th gear was the highest gear that you can go. I use those when driving down steep grades and when it gets steeper I’ll use the paddles to choose which is the highest gear it can go. Handy going down Beartooth Pass where I had it at 2

You are correct. Need to look in the owner's manual, starting at page 232 for 2026 owner's manual. I am attaching a pdf of the pages relating to the manual shifting.

I guess now I'm confused.

I was thinking OP was putting the transfer case into 4lo and was able to shift all the way up to 5th gear.

Granny "low" to me would be shifting transfer case into 4lo and NOT locking the front hubs in. Giving you 2low, creeping or Granny low, allowing truck to idle in gear and one to get out of cab and follow truck, working off the bed, dropping or loading square bales, dropping fenceposts off, etc... ya'll know, truck things! Not turning a truck into a sedan getting groceries.

It worked well back in the non-power steering days.

I think 4lo and tranny in 5th gear would be faster than I'd want to work nowadays!
