Smoke and burning smell under hood LZ0 3.0L Duramax

So here is what my truck did this morning. 3104 miles on the truck. Probably the 8th time it’s done this. How can this processes of burning off soot be considered normal causing this type of smoke which comes into the cabin of the truck and chokes everyone riding?
Hello Waterfowler and fellow duramax owners.
I have the same exact issue with my 2023 LZ0. I too took the truck to the dealership and they found nothing wrong with the truck. It doesn’t affect the performance of the truck but is rather embarrassing to stop at a traffic light and have your new looking truck smoking from the hood, the smell is also very offensive for anyone inside the truck.
I will go back to the dealership and have them review the parts list that you sent, hopefully they will agree to make the repairs, this is definitely not normal and we as buyers and consumers shouldn’t have to be dealing with this issue.
Please let me know if anyone else has experienced issues with this engine. I have a list of issues that I’ve had with this truck including an entire engine and turbo replacement at 33K miles. Even with the new engine and new turbo, the white smoke is still coming out from the hood.
Also, Regen happen way too often in city driving, 2-3 times a day on a 100 miles drive? That’s crazy!
Good luck to you guys.
