What's new

Shudder and hesitation

Because transmission service that was never done after 145k miles could cause catastrophic failure shortly thereafter due to fresh fluid stripping away material. The transmission in these GMs, per GM should be done every 45k miles, I recommend 30 because of how sensitive and unreliable they are.. your truck has skipped 3 services.

This is why I say drive it until it gives out and buy a new transmission or sell the truck before that takes place.

In fact, when it fails, GM should give you a new transmission and ship this one back to themselves to study and duplicate such reliability. Kind of like what Toyota did to millions Mile tundras when they were reliable.

145k on a newer GM transmission that also has never been serviced is unheard of. God status as far as I'm concerned.
I even got 132k miles out of the previous engine before it was replaced under the recall. Most were failing before 40k.

Agree, new fluid will clean deposits, which is probably keeping your clutch packs "tight". Remove the deposits, the packs might start to slip, generating more heat and burn them up for good.
