Service Trailer Brake System

Hello All,

I am having an issue with my trailer brake system. As I was pulling into a campsite, the front axle on my dual axle camper trailer stopped turning and was dragging making a rut in the grass. I got an error message on the dash about servicing trailer brake system. I stopped, unplugged the 7 way connector and re-inserted it. Trailer rolled again, but error message remains. I used an emery board and CRC contact cleaner on both the plug and socket. I am setup at the campsite, but I still get the message when plugged in. Any thoughts??

Check the wire along the front axle tube and backing plates for a insulation rub through to the frame/ground.

ETA...do both front and rear axles have brakes?
