Service Question

My truck, assume all do, has a first maintenence paid for by dealership;
1) What does this entail? Oil change, filter, rotation, and nothing more?
2) The truck has 2200miles on it. They want me to wait till 7,500miles before performing it. Shoudl I just change oil/filter myself and take it in when it hits 7500mikes?

I wanted to do mine sooner so skipped the free oil change and did it myself at 5,000. They only change the oil according to the service department when I checked for the same reason. They told me tire rotation was not part of the first oil change, but I did that myself as well. Took the opportunity to put in an oil pan drain valve to make the future changes easier as well.

I'm wondering why? Should not make one iota to your service dept when your 1st service is. They get reimbursed from gm.

I used my free service at 400 miles, not one thing was said.

You can take it early. Just schedule it like normal and take it in. Or complete yourself. I changed oil at 1k.
