Radio cuts out

HD’s as well. Across all audio sources. Mine has done it since purchase, radio, Apple CarPlay doesn’t matter. Know issue with no fix yet. I have had all software updates performed and they don’t rectify the issue. GMC has a documented process attached but a new radio at this point most likely will not solve the issue

#PIT6101L: Intermittent No Audio - (Sep 25, 2024)
Subject: Intermittent No Audio
Thank you for this info

Interesting, do you listen to Spotify via wireless CarPlay? I’m wondering if Bluetooth is different than the wireless CarPlay or not. If it is maybe I’ll try Bluetooth. Thanks!
I have an Android phone, so my Spotify is streaming through Android Auto. I have not noticed any cutouts while listening to Spotify via Android Auto, only while listening to XM radio. I had just assumed that the satellite antenna was not as robust as our previous GM trucks, but it sounds like it may be a different problem.
On a similar note, driving back from Florida after New Years, my daughter commandeered the radio and she streamed her music on the head unit via CarPlay, and I did not notice any cutouts during that 11 hour drive.
To be fair, all of the ladies in my family are non-stop talkers, so the only time I really ever notice cutouts is when I am driving by myself listening to XM radio.

And after the major software update from a few months back mine went from a few interuptions on any source for the first few minutes to only 2-3 interuptions on any source after it starts up now.

lol! Awesome, thank you

Just messing around some more. If I disconnect my Bluetooth and create a WiFi network and connect the radio to my phone as a WiFi hotspot instead of Bluetooth the radio doesn’t cut out. As soon as I turn the Bluetooth on the audio cut outs return.

I’m thinking this is more of a Bluetooth connection issue than anything else. So my question is what connects when I connect my phone via blue tooth? Is the Bluetooth built into the radio or a separate module?

Download Spotify App on your Infotainment screen; it works much better that way. You will ofcourse need a wifi/internet signal, Onstar, your own or phone hot spot.

Bought the 2024 AT4x in September. Noticed the same across all channels but I do not use Spotify. Haven’t taken to dealer yet because all the others have done so and no resolution. I dont want the dealer installing a new radio.
I have noticed though after driving a while it seems to stop.

Good call, I think the audio cutting out got worse after the new radio install, but knock on wood the freezing and locking up of the display hasn’t happened again since they replaced it. Let us know if your dealer figures it out please. My dealer gave up.
