Well.. I was able to get tips installed tonight. It took more time getting the HDMI port tips off than it did to cut the old pipes off and get the new ones fit! Speaking of fit... Gibson needs to flare the end of the pipe more! Both the exhaust pipe on the truck and the Gibson tips measured 2.5" OD. AKA - not a slip fit! Luckily I had an exhaust tubing expander or I would've been screwed! I was able to flare the end enough to get them on, but the tips are sitting just shy of 2" proud from the bumper. I would like them sitting no more than an inch proud. I gave up trying to get them pushed in further (for now). All that being said, I'll be sending an email to Gibson tomorrow morning.

Whoops. I did forget to attach pics. And yes - I know the drivers side is crooked. I got sick of getting dripped on by melting snow. I'm going to fix it tomorrow.

Edit - I was able to get the drivers side straightened out.

Doesn't look horrible but I agree about 1" protruding is a better look.

I just received my tips today and was under the truck looking at what I need to do tomorrow to install them.
You said yours sticks out 2" and you only want it to stick out 1", why can't you just cut another inch off the the stock exhaust? There should be plenty of room on the hangers to go back another inch.
And yes mine is 2.5" as well so I'll have to figure it out tomorrow to see how to get them to slip on.

Cutting an extra inch off the stock pipes would work, but I would prefer to get as much engagement with the stock pipes as possible. Currently they are barely interlocked with the Gibson pipes past the relief cuts. I would like them to interlock more rather than just cutting more off the stock exhaust pipe. Let me know how it works out for you. I have a theory that GM may have changed the diameter of the exhaust pipes when they went to the active exhaust on the '24+ trucks. What year is your truck?

2025 with the active exhaust, if mine is too far off I'll take it to get welded on. I don't plan on them ever getting removed so once I get the angle correct its probably best to have them at least tack welded anyways.

Welding them on wouldn't be a bad idea. I do have a welder....
 

Had a friend that had an expander but it it wouldn't go deep enough so I just cut another inch off and used 2 1/2" band clamps. Still need to adjust the passenger side but after I get them right I'll take and get them welded on. The nice thing was I was bale to fit my hand back and put LED license plate lights in while I was at it.

Did you contact Gibson and let them know you had to modify the tips to install as well? Hopefully they'll look into this issue if a number of reports roll in and they'll increase the flare diameter of the pipe. It's the only way they're going to do anything about it.
