Protect horn from thieves cutting wires?

'25 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 Carbon Pro

Has anyone taken steps to protect the horn from thieves cutting wires to disable before breaking into their GMC?

I park in front of our house. Nice neighborhood except it's a magnet for smash and grabs and stealing vehicles. I've had the horn cut twice, then window smash or lock jammed to open.

I am.lookong for any experiences with hardening the horn from attack only. I am aware of the other deterrents, but these thieves go to the wires first before even touching the truck or looking inside. The horn is step one for me.

Horn repairs are expensive!

Have you done this? Wondering how much disassemblely required to get adequate access.

Since you're specifically asking about a horn... Unless it gives you a check engine light, id leave it cut to confuse them and install a separate aftermarket one. Maybe a train horn setup.

If they don't see the horn and wires to it, they'll cut something else. They don't care.

Good point. It took a few weeks to get the last repair done and it didn't generate a trouble light while the wire remained cut.

You should just use some electrical tape to tape together the spot they cut and make sure the other end isn't plugged into anything. That way it's just redundant. Let them keep cutting it
