Just connect the truck to your home wifi and download offline maps to the head unit and you still have navigation....or use you phone.
Yes you can use your phone data plan turn on your phone hotspot and select it in the truck connections screen enter your passwordI have an AT4 for over 1 year now, still haven't figured out how to use my existing data plan with AT&T to have my car connectivity active and use its capabilities in full, without signing for an additional data plan with GMC?
Is is an useful automation. We should not have to create these "go arounds".Yes you can use your phone data plan turn on your phone hotspot and select it in the truck connections screen enter your password
To have it connect automatically set up an automation shortcut in your phone to turn on hotspot every time your phone connects with truck
We pay $200/yr for our data plans, so with our updated screens it works out well.I called OnStar and they offered unlimited data for $15 a month. Covers hotspot and all the truck tech.
This is great stuff, would you mind sharing a bit more on how to make it or sending a link (maybe Youtube), etc.Just connect the truck to your home wifi and download offline maps to the head unit and you still have navigation....or use you phone.

Data plan is a big waste of $. CarPlay / Android Auto work just fine. Side note: I’m signed into my google account in the truck, and have access to the full Google map feature. Just sign in and you should be good.I have an AT4 for over 1 year now, still haven't figured out how to use my existing data plan with AT&T to have my car connectivity active and use its capabilities in full, without signing for an additional data plan with GMC?
