P0422 code went off today.

Went on a road trip from CA to OR and at about 1100 miles check engine light came on in the middle of nowhere. Didn't think about OnStar until I got to Bandon Dunes. They sent me a email report with the P0422 code. Stopped at a GMC dealer in WA a week later and they read it and cleared it. Has not come back since. Brought this up with my dealer as this was my 1st reported trouble with the truck. Made sure it went in the system. I learned a hard lesson with the truck I just replaced, Ford Lemon buy back. Since I talked with service about trans issues early, but didn't insist it be written up in detail cost me 30% of purchase price. Lesson learned and if anything like this happens again I'm covered

Finally took mine to the dealer after driving ~1000 more miles I hopes it would clear.

The dealer tried to clear it, but it did not clear so I have an appointment the 6th if it doesn’t go into limp mode or clear before that.
To update this, about 3 days later the check engine light cleared and has not been an issue since.

I forgot to mention there was a recent recall on engine/trasnmission software (the dealership manager said) when I was there to report glow plug issues. They successfully installed an engine and transmission software update which failed to install a couple of weeks ago. The glow plus issue needs a new fuse block which is on backorder, it is not passing the full voltage/power to glows; fortunately I'm not in Alaska and can wait for a replacement fuse block
