Checking to see if anyone has experienced this with their Duramax. At lunch I noticed some oil behind the front driver side tire. It was all over the control arm and wheel liner. Upon further inspection I found the coolant reservoir was completely full with thick black oil. After some research online i found there is a somewhat known issue with the oil cooler cracking and causing this. My truck only has 52k miles on it so its under warranty, but I'm not sure what all an issue like this will cause down the road. Has anyone had this happen and if so, what was done to resolve it and were there any lasting issuse afterward?

Yep known issue. What oil filter do you use? Is it the oem one? That oem oil filter was talked about as the usual cause for that failure.

Also are you all stock or weight loss?

The dealer solution to this is to run a cleaner through and replace all hoses, radiator, oil cooler etc. very costly.

I'd say keep it until the warranty is up... This isnt the 6.2 or 3.0 we are talking about ..
