Recently my vehicle went into "limp mode" and had warning on dash to Service Immediately. I had taken to my Mechanic right away (as I am out of warranty). I had 79,000km at the time. I was almost due for an oil change which I change at 7000 kms intervals (as per dealer recommendations). The Mechanic called me and said "I was very lucky that I did not blow the engine as there was only 1.5 litres remaining." The vehicle shows no sign of leaking oil anywhere, as I park in the same spot at work and in my driveway. Since the oil change, My Mechanic asked me to bring the truck back at every 1000 kms to monitor oil consumption, along with taking pictures of the dip stick and documenting the km's. Today I brought the vehicle for the 4000 km check, they had to add 1.5 litres of oil. Mechanic recommends that I bring the truck to the dealer with all of the readings, pictures and documentation over the past 4-5 weeks as he believes there is an internal issue that is burning through all this oil.
Is anyone else experiencing this type of Oil Consumption in their Canyon?? And if so have you've been to the dealer?

I mean that's not entirely abnormal consumption especially on the GM v8's. What kind of driving do you do? Any towing?

Who does your oil changes? Get in the habit of checking your oil levels at least once a week. Don't trust a shop or even the dealer to do a proper oil change and don't drive your vehicle for so many miles without checking your fluid levels. I check mine once a week on all my vehicles.
