Just a standard oil change, nothing special. I replaced the oil pan drain bolt with a Fumoto valve so I can just open the valve to drain the oil, no tools necessary.

I was considering a drain valve but when I saw how easily the plug and filter are accessed I skipped it. These trucks are surely the easiest vehicle to change oil in I have ever seen.

I replaced my drain plug with the nice dmax store one. No issues. Only suggestion is to let the truck actually drain for a solid hour and have the oil semi warm when you do it. I like to leave mine draining overnight when I have that time. Also don't fill the full 10 QTs. I always fill 9, turn on, back off the ramp and shut down. check levels after a few hours of sitting. I recently added the large ppe filter and my last oil change was 10.5 roughly.

I also don't suggest the acdelco replacement filter, there's been quite a few videos on those filters causing issues with the oil cooler. Before I switched to PPE I used the amsoil brand. I've also used amsoil oil only the entire time.

Ramps? Im pretty big but I can get under my HD truck with absolutely no problems with weight on wheels. If I had access to a lift I would use that so I dont have to get on the ground but ramps would not fix that.

Yes, I use ramps. Makes my life easier.

I jack/stand it, then it's one of the easiest oil changes you'll ever do. Everything is accessible and plenty of room under, even without jacking it up. I do tire rotations every oil change so, it's gotta go up. Fumoto valve ftw!

You and I are on the same program. I open the valve and let it drain while I jack it up and rotate tires each oil change. By the time I am done rotating tires I can close the valve and replace the filter. Got the 5 tire rotation and oil change down to about 35 minutes. Would be far less if I had a lift. Retirement dreams…..

What's the correct PPE oil filter for my truck? I ordered the below filter.

That filter will not fit unless you have relocated the fuel coolant pump with something like this:

I do run that filter - it just won’t fit in a stock configuration.

Same program(great timing at 35min) ...and pathway! I've been thinking about a pole barn and 10-12k 2 post lift since I was probably 17. 43 now. Still dreaming, but closer than ever. Just spoke to my accountant about how I can write this thing, or some of it off. 😉

Thanks for the reply. I eye balled it yesterday and it didn’t look right.
Call PPE. I've gotten lucky before and they had things in stock that weren't online. If you can get hands on that relocation kit it's a very easy job.

Having built a home with designated lift area in the shop, floor with 6" concrete and rebar, designed to install a 4 post alignment lift, I did not install a lift since the Bendpack lift I had in mind, at maximum height, when not in use, didn't provide enough clearance below the tracks for the high AEV Edition truck with a 72" lawn mower on a Turf Lift accessory kit on top. We are preparing to sell this home anyways :(

Renedering from my design below; the shop is 55'x18' with a 17' ceiling, which I'm now clearing everything, in preparation to sell. I'm almost 30 years your senior :)
