I wouldn’t think you would need to remove it for just general maintenance as you are paying your money for that service and not making a warranty claim..the only issue I believe would be affected if you are making a warranty claim on the powertrain during the warranty period and then the Banks Derringer would probably enter the conversation IF…IF it was installed during the actual investigation. Banks is undetectable electronically but not visually so if it’s physically removed it would be like it never was there. The actual intercept harness and Derringer is not hard to install and once you do it once for me doing it again would take even less time. If I was making a warranty claim to my dealer I would take the 20 minutes to take it off and remove the harness and Derringer but leave the starter cable in but out of sight. Took me a lot longer to install the starter cable and Idash Pro than the Derringer and harness. I believe the bypass plug allows if you think you are having an issue with the Derringer, Banks is able to help diagnose whether it’s a Banks problem or truck problem. At least that is my understanding of the “bypass” plug. Just my thoughts on it anyway…

That’s pretty much how most people approach it. For normal maintenance visits, the dealer usually isn’t digging around looking for aftermarket parts unless there’s a reason. But if it turns into a powertrain warranty claim, that’s when anything performance-related can become part of the discussion. The nice thing about setups like the Derringer is that the harness can be removed pretty quickly. Some owners even upgrade to things like a Duramax tuner harness plug upgrade later on just to make installing or removing those modules even easier.

I notice +1 mpg pick up when towing. Torque increase is noticeable on launch. Overall I’m really pleased with it/them so far. I believe the monster exhaust makes it fun also. Hard not to like it for me!

That's not bad while towing. Curious about the around town stop/go trips, that's where mine drops to 14-15 mpg. Wishful thinking but would love to see that in the ~17 range lol

I’ve seen 16.0 to 16.2 in town or moderate stop/go traffic. Highway speed without tow see close to 18 maybe 18.5. I’ll take it.
