I had one of these on my Ford too, and it worked fine. The arms aren’t strong enough to hold the front panel up at highway speed, so if you need the full bed above the rails it’s best to take the tonneau off.

The problem with the three panel tonneau is I couldn’t make it work with a rack. The only good, secure, solution I found for mounting racks was the Retrax. That deploys easily, it’s secure, and it works with a variety of racks. I also have the full bed up to about 9” tall/deep. Beyond that, the canister eats up the front part of the bed. On the other hand, you can lock the Retrax in any degree of open, from just a few inches open to all the way forward/open. For me the Retrax was the best overall compromise. The downsides are:
1) Stupid expensive
2) Poor customer service in the unlikely event you need help. (They couldn’t care less after the sale, but the products are well made.)
3) Not enough room under the canister bottom for the Decked system
4) It’s not easily removed and reinstalled by yourself. (Both are easy and fast with a second person.)

Decided on the Thunderstorm Gray color since I have not seen many in that color in Louisiana. At about 300 miles in, I decided to start adding a few things to make the truck pop. Window tint was first followed by the 1.75” Ready Lift leveling kit and 295/60/20 Nitto Ridge Grapplers. Attached a few photos of current setup for comment.

Looking for recommendations for a few things:
1. Tonneau covers: retractable or folding? And what brands? I noticed GMC offers a few options and with my GMC points it may be my best bet. Anyone have any experience with the GMC branded bed covers?
2. Shock change: looking to change shocks and get rid of the factory ranchos. Any recommendations? Truck will mostly see road with very little Offroad exposure

Congrats, Love the color. Fixing to buy also. Really love the Volcanic Red as well, but then everytime I pull on a job site or the HP sees it they will know it is me. I would rather blend in!!!!! So White or Silver for me.

I am planning to get the DB Switchback folding. I had a Retractable and it was ok, but I think the fold over will be better.

No rubbing at all with this size
 

I have since added a tonneau cover. Went with the Worksport AL3 Pro. Great warranty and fast shipping. Install took 20-30 minutes by myself.
