I’m not one to start posts like this nor do I complain about petty stuff, but recently having some bad experiences with the truck and dealership.
36 mo 36k just expired.(40 months)
Oil changes every 5k.
Took it in for 30k service which is routine oil change and tire rotation.
They found an oil leak and told me I didn’t have any warranty options.
Told me my DEF was 50% full when I topped it off the morning of. (I always do that.)
Truck cab smelled like oil and fuel the rest of the day.
I called GMC who told me I’m still under power train warranty and I should try another shop.
I took it to another dealership today who said warranty is handling the leak however, they also found a transmission coolant leak that is not covered because it’s external parts.
$3,600 quote and thankfully I have extended bumper to bumper.
Somehow the other shop missed this? There was fluid everywhere in the video.
Added bonus, it just had a coolant valve issue last year at only 20k miles.
What’s the deal with these trucks? Having these issues at 29k miles is absolutely absurd and without both warranties, this would have cost me $5000-$6000.
2023 1500 AT4 Duramax 3.0.
90% of the miles are highway.
Anyone else have any of these diagnoses at such a young age?
This has me strongly considering selling or trading when my extended warranty expires.
