Load Range E PSI??

2023 1500 AT4X - Toyo Open Country R/T Trails 285/75r18's. E-rated. I run them at 34 PSI cold. Once I get them warmed up they run between 36-38 PSI.

Ride is never going to be the same as an SL or C rated tire, but these run well at a lower pressure. Just hit 42,000 miles on them and wear is very consistent although they sure are getting noisier.

I'm thinking I'll get another 5k-7k miles out of them until I switch over to the R/T Pros.

From my perspective the lower the pressure the better for normal/daily use and air them up higher whenever you plan to tow heavy or carry a heavy load in the bed.
Ahhh that's great info to know...thanks for sharing. Part of the reason I made this post is because when I had the tires mounted and road force balanced, the tech got all 4 tires at 13 or less pounds of road force. I had taken it on a test drive that same day and the ride was sooo smooth. The next day I checked the air pressure and noticed it was low, so filled them up to the recommended 38psi and made about a 2 hour drive to Sarasota and the ride was completely different; it was so rough and I noticed vibrations that weren't there before. That's when I dropped it back down to 35 and the ride has been considerably more comfortable. I may even drop them down to 34 and see if it rides any smoother.

I run Toyo AT3's 275/65r20 E rated at 50psi cold all around. I have Bilsteins 5100's and the Road Active suspension (RAS) in the rear. I think the ride is ok, better than stock I my opinion. Definitely less hopping on the road over large bumps and tracks.

Really supposed to look at max tire pressure on the tire and not what is printed on the door jam on truck. Some tires have a max pressure of 44 and some 51 and the E’s can be way up there. I used to run mine 32-34 and they’d always wear on the edges and still have plenty of tread in middle. Never could get high mileage out of them. The 32 or 33 PSI shown on the door jam is the minimum safe PSI. It’s said to run about 80%of max pressure so I run mine now at 42 for tires that have a max pressure of 51. Ride is slightly stiffer but also gained a couple MPG at that pressure and tires wear even now and I can get a lot more miles on them. Of course if I was going to be spending some time off road I’d lower them to 20-25. But mainly taking long trips on the highway now so I’m at 42

I just put on a set of Bridgestone Dueler At Ascent in 275/70r18 load range E. Right at 45 psi cold ended up being the sweet spot for me.
How are you liking those? Saw them when I was upgrading my spare tire. On my radar for consideration for my next set.

They're fantastic! Night and day difference coming from the factory Goodyear tires. I've got about 4,000 miles on my set and there is next to zero road noise compared to the Goodyears that would HOWL above 55mph. I don't take the truck off pavement much so I cannot speak to the offroad capabilities yet, but they have performed great in the snow!

Anything is better than the stock Goodyears lol. These Nittos have been amazing so far with road noise...even my wife mentioned how quiet they were.

As for the PSI...so far 35 has been a really nice and comfortable ride.

Im on 35x12.5 Nitto Ridge Grapplers and currently run 35 rear and 40 front and they seem proper.

Use the calculator at https://www.tire-reviews.com/Tools/tire-pressure-calculator to get a baseline starting point. Enter your oem tire setup and the pressure on the tire placard in your door jamb then enter your new tire setup. It will calculate the proper pressure to maintain the appropriate load per tire. I just went through this trying to change tires on my 22 1500 AT4X from the Duratracs. My tire guy recommended i stay with the Lt275/65R18C. I wanted the Duratrac RT, but it only comes in an XL or E load. They said my ride would not be the same as the vehicle suspension is matched to the tire load. I went with Toyo Open Country AT3.
