License plate light

Thank you for this reference, helped me out. Just got my AT4 1500 and working on fixing it up to my liking.🙂

For those wondering how to get access to the fixtures, I found going above the tow bar, from the spare tire, was easiest to allow me to get torque on them. See the attached Pic of my hand. It may also help to drop the spare tire. And then like the instructions say, give them a counter clockwise turn and they should slide out
Welcome.

I know this is an old thread but just wanted to add something that I found out.
I saw a youtube video where a GMC owner was denied a warranty claim on a lighting module because he had LED bulbs in. In his owner's manual it states to NOT replace incandescent bulbs with LED. Dealership claims the LED bulbs caused the lighting module to go bad.
I replaced my license plate bulbs with Lasfit 194 LED bulbs. I checked my owner's manual just now. It does state "Do not replace incandescent bulbs with aftermarket LED replacement bulbs. This can cause damage to the vehicle electrical system.". I'm putting my OEM bulbs in the glove box. If I have any lighting issues, I'm swapping the bulbs out before taking it in for warranty work.

Yes, he has a chrome bumper. His truck is a incandescent bulb truck. He replaced ALL of them with led. I think a painted bumper truck with ALL led minus the rear plate bulbs, will never have an issue running led plate bulbs.

I have a '21 painted bumper (Denali) that has had led plate bulbs in it since Dec '20. Also a '22 and a '23 painted bumper trucks with led plate bulbs since new also. No issues.

Won't hurt to keep oem bulbs with your truck.
