Let's see those AT4 HD trucks towing!

Cross post picture but.... just picked up the 5er this morning. Got rid of a bumper pull winnie micro mini.
Congratulations!
I traded my 1500 for a 3500 last fall to do the same thing. We have loved our family travel trailer for 12 years, but a fifth wheel will help us in many ways - especially exploring more of the country. We're searching for that fifth wheel now.

Honest question with absolutely no sarcasm: How would a 5th wheel help explore more of the country? More room for growing family? Better tow ability?

camping and traveling mixed into one.... way better than any hotel room IMHO
I get that but he was saying the 5th wheel gave those benefits over a travel trailer. How does a 5th wheel help explore more of the country over a travel trailer? I am not trying to be a dick, just wondering. I have examined the cost/benefit of travel trailer vs 5th wheel vs RV and am always looking for more data points.

Can’t speak for the op but in a previous life I had a 5th wheel and a F350 drw . Currently I have a bumper pull. Both trailers under 30 feet.

The floor plan of the 5th wheel had the master bed over the hitch giving better separation of living / sleeping quarters resulting in just a better feel for longer time away. To me a 5th wheel tows better also. We had a Sierra 1500 when we bought the current tt and while we were well within the capacity of the truck, long distance travel was not very comfortable. Upgraded to the 2500 and diesel and the tt tows like a dream but you still feel like it’s a bedroom with a kitchen. Granted a larger trailer might change that but then it would not fit in the garage. We are currently figuring out our next steps in life as we try to prepare for possible retirement in the next few years.

We work remotely and take our travel trailer out for a week to 10 days. But if we want to travel the country for a month or more (preferably 3 or 4 months), a fifth wheel will have more storage options and we would get a model with a washer & dryer and perhaps an onboard Onan generator.

We've outgrown our travel trailer and a fifth wheel makes more sense to us for longer adventures.
