Drivers seat makes a knocking noise that is also felt in the seat when turning left to right, no movement front to back. Problem since I got the truck, took it to the dealer at 11,348/18,543/20,932 to address. First visit they said the retorted the 4 rail bolts. Second time they did the same thing. 3rd time I told them they need to find a better solution because I’m not brining the truck in every few months to get the bolts retorqued.
Last visit, tech said he was going to put blue thread lock on the bolts and retorque. I pick up the truck and the service invoice says they cleaned the bolts, applied blue thread lock and retorqued the bolts. At 24k the problem was back. This time I took the bolts out myself to see what was happening. Well, it turns out they did NOT clean the bolts or apply blue thread lock. The green thread lock was still on the bolts!! A$$holes!!!
So I cleaned the bolts, applied blue thread lock and retorqued the bolts. It’s been almost 7k miles and the problem has not returned. I think it’s BS that’s we can’t trust these (some) techs to do honest work. If you write on their you did something, do it. I dont think that’s asking got too much as a customer.
