So the truck is ~3 weeks old, I hit cracked the passenger side mirror backing up when a tree jumped out of no where and hit the mirror.... The mirror still works fine but the housing is cracked. I'm guessing that the entire assemebly needs to be replaced. Is this a DIY type job? I did a quick search online and didn't see much. The truck is a new 2026 2500 AT4X-AEV.

Pretty easy to replace yourself. Check out Boost Auto. They have complete mirror assemblies. They have custom LED options and they have videos posted that show you how to disassemble the mirror, replace the lights, mirror glass etc. I took mine apart and added their LEDs, wasn’t bad. Could use the opportunity to get custom color housing, smoked or sequential lights.

I had to have mine replaced, as someone sideswiped it when driving. Due to dash camera their insurance was found to be at fault. Took to dealer and it was $2,300 to replace whole assembly with factory replacement. This happened about 4 months after I bought it and it took the dealership about 2 months to get the parts in. I had no other option at the time as mine was a '24 and brand new, but like I said...their insurance paid.
