How to get rid of Active Fuel Management, auto stop/start and adjust petal response

I think I will try leaving it in "Tow Haul Mode" instead of changing it to L9 every time and report back. Those of you who don't notice AFM in your trucks I am curious on how many miles you have on it. I used to not notice it either and wonder if it gets worse as the miles increase. I have about 30K on mine. I remember when I first got it thinking I did not need a disabler as the AFM seemed transparent. At least way better than my previous 2018 Sierra.

I have been in and around a few different models of the GM truck. Is it rare to find one without the auto start/stop feature? I have a 22 with the 6.2 and don't have the button. Which I am grateful for because I don't have to turn it off every time I get in the truck. But everyone who gets in my truck asks, "How did you get it without the auto start/stop"

That's just how it came.
My 22 built in Dec. 21 doesn't have auto start/stop. I bought it in Jan. 2022. Finally got the heated/cooled seats 15 months later and the brand new heated steering wheel 23 months after I bought it. Lucky me.

It feels like "Tow/Haul" mode operates the same as driving it in L9. At least that has been my initial impression. It might hold the gears longer but I can't really tell if it does. I am certain that it keeps it out of 10 gear and no AFM. The great thing about the modes is that they stay on until you turn them off.

Except................if you have "Active Exhaust." Tow/Haul doesn't activate Active Exhaust and I like the sound. Only "Sport" and "Off-Road" activate the Active Exhaust (as far as I can determine from the owners manual)...................if you have that option. So I use "Sport" and L9 almost exclusively.

Unfortunately I do not have that option. Wish I did though.

My 22 6.2 doesn’t have it either. I looked at dozens of AT4’s between the years of 2019-2022 and they all had “the button”. When I test drove the truck I bought…I thought I hit the lottery. No button !! For sure one good thing that happened from there being a chip shortage. Too bad the chip for the AFM wasn’t on a shortage list too. 😂

I installed this on my refreshed 22 3.0l diesel to eliminate auto-stop and do not regret a single dollar spent. There are other options out there from various vendors but this one doesnt cause codes or other problems.

I'd really like to upgrade to a '24 with that refreshed dash, but until someone comes up with something to get rid of the nonsense, I'm keeping my '21 with the ability to run my Pulsar LT.

I went with the autostop eliminator that Gerb4643 linked above, about 45min install and works great. Plug and play with no code issues.

depends on which tires your truck came with. If you got the MT's = no sport mode. ATs = Sport mode. Due to speed rating from what i've read.
Really, it's disabled due to what tires they decide to put on at the factory? Because rubber is not something we ever change during ownership of a truck! That's really too bad.
