Hey

Mine does the same thing every once in a while. Have yet to figure out what I do or do not do that makes it happen🤔
What type of phone? If it's Android, you can go into that bluetooth device's individual settings (gear icon under bluetooth menu) and turn off the "Audio" option. It will still autoconnect to the tailgate system, but it won't play anything until you manually turn Audio back on using that setting.

I think iPhone may have something similar, but I don't have one handy to test right now.

iPhone, I don’t usually use Bluetooth so I do know that if it starts playing soon as I drop the tailgate I check and my Bluetooth is on, every time

-and the technology/safety package, aka HUD, lane monitoring, and adaptive cruise control. thing is suhweet!

*Disclosure, I wasn’t speeding everyone goes like 10mph over here, and I always use hands-free for text and phone calls (unlike everyone else in H-town)

Got that right! I live in Moco but work in Houston and I hear ya loud and clear.

Do you have any problems with your kicker stereo coming on when you drop the tail gate? Every once in a while I will drop the tail gate (main gate) to load something and it will connect with my phone and start playing. There has to be an adjustment or something in there.
I've had the same issue, so I used the power button and cycled it to the aux or usb input. When I want to connect I just put it back to blue tooth.
