Hello AT4!

I retired back in Dec and am researching a truck to pull a moderate sized camper for future adventures. (The wife, myself & jack russell)

I currently drive a 2013 Toyota Tacoma 4.0 auto double cab long bed 218K miles. It's been a great truck, still runs strong, but just would like more comfort & room while traveling.

I think a 2500 is overkill for what I want, so I'm thinking a 1500 with a 3.0 diesel may be the ticket. Not a fan of the new truck prices, so looking for nice used unit.

Any input would be great and are there any years to stay away from? Thanks!

Welcome to the crew! I think you're on the right track. Although I don't think you can go wrong with a gasser! I have no issues with the big or little diesels, just hate to see anyone have to deal with the EPA's environmental killer known as DEF.
