I have a major issue with GM. Their paint quality is terrible. I order a 2025 AT4 (Red Tintcoat) and after I bought it, I started to notice that the paint in the jams was much faded. Under the hood was a joke. The firewall was pink, under the hood was pink and inside of the fenders, areas was not even painted to cover the drip primer. The tailgate jam was faded from red to pink, even the door hinges were pink. I pushed for them to fix the problem and repaint the problem areas. I even tried to claim it under warranty. But to take it apart to paint it was not an option.
So, I took it back to the dealer and talked with the manager. After he seen what was going on, he simply said that GM owes you a new truck. At the same time, I started to have eletrical issues with the programing of the truck. They contacted the district rep and there was no hassle at all about returning the truck for a full refund and at that time I had put on a few thousand miles. There was no meeting with the rep he just approved it over the phone, didn't even ask for pictures. Talking with the dealership salesman he mentioned that this is so easy shows that other people must have complained about this problem. So, they knew of the problem.
We sat down and ordered a new truck. At this time GM was changing over to a 2026 model. I thought that maybe they would have fixed the problem. The new one came in and had the same issues plus it had a small fisheye in the paint in the hood. They offered to paint the hood, and I told them no because of matching the tincoat paint. They did offer me to order another, but I felt that the next one could be worse, so I declined.
While I was waiting for the new truck, I looked at a lot of 2500's and 3500's both GMC and Chevy and of course they all had the same paint issues.
What bothers me the most about this is, the QC/QA department for GM is terrible. They are NOT doing their job. I got to thinking and thought of the number of people putting this truck together and no one said anything to stop the truck from being built. So, is this the only area where QC/QA are not doing their job or have they been told to ignore it?
I looked at the 1500's and paint quality was much better. It is just the factory that builds the 2500 and 3500's. I also looked at Ford and Dodge and compared the paint to GM. GM is the worst.
To me it is a shame that GM expects us to buy their truck as is. Where is the pride GM? Is greed so tight that one more pass of paint would break the bank?

I have a 24 HD and don't have any paint problems. The quality control issues isn't exclusive to GM. Since basically covid, every manufacturer has gone down hill. Between build quality and engine issues.

It's a lack of pride and care, new generation in the world force etc. And it's not exclusive to the automotive industry.

I have the 2026 AT4 HD in Titanium Rush and thankfully my paint job on this truck is perfect after checking, mine must have been painted mid week and not Friday 🤣🤣

Yea mine is a 2025 2500 at4x in thunderstorm grey and under the hood mine isn't pink thank God but it does have a lack of paint and has a yellow tent in finders and frame rails I was pissed but after seeing some others, I'm happy I got as much paint as I did. I did go back to the dealership and showed them they just shrugged it off but did make a note of it. I've seen some that I'd take back and go with another vehicle if that's what I drove off the lot id make them take it under the lemon law or something. I even lost sleep over one that wasn't even mine. One I saw on a video or something crazy. And still kind of feel bad for the poor guy that ends up with it...
