Drilled 2 holes and inserted plus nuts so I could screw the base to the bed and also remove it if needed. The base already has 2 bolt holes in it I used to template the bed holes. I use this kit from Amazon with stainless steel rivnuts for mounting items in the vehicles.

They are nice and I have a complete set. Every time I drill a hole in a vehicle it seems so wrong but I guess I have not regretted one yet.
