My 26 AT4 completely died last night. I had a “service 4wd” message pop up on the DIC. When I stopped and tried to restart it, it would not start. I got a “service engine and transmission” message on my onstar account. When I called onstar for roadside assistance, I ended up having to pay out of pocket for the tow to my gmc dealership because it was too far according to the onstar service rep. When loading it onto the tow truck, it had to be dragged onto the flatbed because the parking brake would not disengage. I drove past the dealership later last night and the truck was there, with all of the exterior light lit up because the ignition would not shut off. I can’t wait to find out what’s wrong with it.

Did you try a battery disconnect for a few minutes? For towing I continue to maintain my AAA coverage which includes premier towing upto 200 miles. Towing can get very expensive.

Welcome.

Sorry to read about your troubles. I don't think "rebooting" (disconnecting batteries) is going to solve a engine shut down.

Keep us posted and also, how many miles?
