Diesel vs Gas

Understood - was wondering on the miles per tank since that's where this thread started. I am seeing 8-12 more MPG with the 3.0L Duramax than I did with the 5.3 gasser, better torque, acceleration, and smooth powerband....so 280/300 miles per tank to 450 miles per tank

I'm surprised. The last time I drove a GMC 5.3 I averaged much better and could get 400+mpt. I guess it depends on your driving style and how far you're willing to push your gas tank before refilling. I'm getting 300+mpt with the 6.2L. That's really what I wanted. I don't mind spending more on gasoline. I just didn't want to be inconvenienced by having to fuel up more frequently.
