Decided on the GM Kicker sub

You can call and ask. I don’t think they really know. You will be talking to a salesman and not directly with the warehouse. When I received mine they didn’t know and I lucked out. There were others that didn't. You should call and ask just to confirm.
Wondering if my local dealers would let me take a look at it prior to purchasing. Seems pretty easy to tell the difference between the 2 via quick visual inspection. May try to do that.

From my understanding,” the second hand” parts dealers only had the older versions from their overstock. It’s going to be tuff. I believe someone contacted kicker and they said they went to the new versions because of parts being unavailable during the covid lie. After parts became available they never went back.
All that said, IMO it’s a really great upgrade with upgraded door speakers too. Very important and worth the $$$ love my setup right now.

Just FYI...I ordered my kicker sub from GMC back in December '24 and got the one with the dip switches and kicker bass knob.

Thats good news. I’m only saying there are no guarantees unless kicker went back to original. If you don’t mind if it has the sub control port or not then who cares.

Ya the tech guy at Stillwater designs told me today they began releasing the originals a while back and it is a 50:50 chance you get the one you want.

so make sure if you need dip switches and knob ports, you purchase from a reputable source and you can return and reorder until you get the one you want, lol

I just ordered one last week from GMC directly and I received one with the dip switches. I read somewhere that all of the new ones they are selling come with the amp with the dip switches and the "dipless" ones were just due to a covid shortage.

I had my dealer install it because it was only $130. I installed the knob myself and that took me about 20 minutes total because it was my first time. I could do it in 5 if I did it again. The sub and knob are well worth the cost!

There is currently an offer for 25% off of accessories more than $700 so this qualifies.

Awesome. I ordered from GMC directly. Had a bunch of points and used the 25% off so paid for overnight shipping. Will update tonight when I get home.

What a load of BS! I'm kind of surprised they started making them again with the dip switches. Gonna have to reach out to them and see if I can swap it!
