Coolant Control Valve

Goddamn this is not good. What symptoms were y'all noticing when you got the P1098 code?
What I first noticed was went out one morning to crank my engine, and the cooling fans went full throttle. The next day or so I ended up getting a reduction in power message on the dash. I disconnected the batteries for a few minutes and reset it and then it did it again. Then I put it in the shop after the third time.
💯 call GM customer service!!!!! They assigned me a case number and a representative. He called me every two days until he found the part and had it shipped directly to the dealership over night. I wished I would not have waited around being nice and would have called them right away. It would have only been 2 weeks not 6 weeks.

I agree, call in before you visit a dealer to ensure they have the part and hopefully a loaner car.

I got my truck back last night. It only took them a week to complete the oil change and replace the CCV. Once I got home, I realized they put the wrong wheel and tire on the front divers side of my truck. I have Icon wheels with Toyo AT3's and they put on one Method wheel with a Nitto Ridge Grappler.... so I guess I'll be going back to the dealer as soon as they can find my missing wheel.

Interesting. Good to know. I ask because a few weeks ago my '24 3.0 had the fans running full throttle after start up (in the dead of cold winter). After a few days of clearing codes and CELs coming back on every day and getting the damn xxx miles until speed reduced warnings, I took it into the dealership. They said my DEF tank was frozen and found DTCs P0186 (fuel temp sensor performance) and P00E9 (air intake temp performance). I'm currently waiting on a MAP sensor after the fuel rail temp sensor replacement didn't solve the problem. I'm wondering if this is all caused by the CCV and they are trying to throw parts at it without actually fixing the real problem. Naturally it's been about a month and they still don't have an ETA on the MAP sensor.

My 23 Yukon 3L had this issues 3 weeks ago. Took two weeks to get it in and done. My mechanic said its coomon. It use to pay him 9 hours now they knocked it down to 3 so you know they are having a problem. Why does GM not stock parts anymore. No matter what it is any longer it seems like you can never get parts.

How in the world do they put the wrong wheels back on??? What kind of incompetence are we dealing with at these places??? 🤯

It's not that they don't stock parts. It's that supply can't keep up with demand. Similarly to the 6.2 gas V8. There have been people on here waiting for a month minimum just for the engine to show up.

I mean, they were close in style and same size tire. Just moving too fast I’d assume.

They picked up the truck and fixed it so I didn’t have to do anything.

@Cocoabean You are very nice to cut them some slack. And I like that they owned it by taking care of it completely. But I'd really like to know how this happened. Do they just take wheels off vehicles being repaired and toss them in a pile? Then when it's time to finish just go grab one and buzz it on??? Is anybody else picturing Larry, Moe, and Curly working at this place??? 😂 Anyway... glad you got it squared away!

I was told the two trucks were in connected stalls, so someone either mixed up the stack of tires or pulled from the wrong one on the first or last tire is my best guess.
They've been a great dealership for service on both my truck and my wife's Cadillac, plus when the truck was having emissions issues early on they got GM to offer me a free 3-year service plan... so its hard to be truly upset given everything.
