Ceramic coating price?

Honestly...this is something you can do yourself for less than $200. So many reputable companies sell user friendly coatings these days (i.e. Adam's Advanced Graphene Ceramic) that there's almost no reason to pay that kind of money. If you can wax a car, you can apply a coating.

Do it yourself and use your savings to buy truck parts :)
It being a black truck, I’m a bit intimidated. I think for the time it would take me to actually do a good job, I should just go to work and make the extra money to pay for a pro haha

I'm in the Vancouver area and mine was done for $2500 but that's with full paint correction included for a 7 year coating.

It is possible to do your own paint correction and coating if you have a bit of knowledge on how it all works and the right equipment, but if you don't have the equipment that is going to cost you a bit anyway. And on a black truck if you don't know the steps things can go wrong pretty easily... I have done detailing in the past and I still just took mine to a shop to get done (this way you get warrantee on any issues) and also every year you will want a "maintenance wash" that will decontaminate and rejuvenate the coating. Anyone that has not had ceramic coating done will not understand how different it is than the "spray on coatings", there is no comparison at all.

Any lighter colour truck I'd say maybe give it a shot but black does not hide anything at all and for the cost of buying the equipment and product to do it yourself you save a bit but chances are it won't come out looking like a professional detail shop did it. If it's a good shop you will be amazed what it will look like when you pick it up after it's done.
Exactly how I feel

I agree do it yourself. I used the Gyeon MOhs EVO. 1. Went over the truck with a random orbital polisher light buffing pad and some meguiars ultimate polish removed all the swirls. It's a new truck and it won't take much. 2. Wiped it down down with Gyeon Prep to prepare the surface 3. Apply the mohs evo you will need the 50 ml bottle. It will take and afternoon but worth it. Every couple of washes use one of the ceramic sprays to maintain it. I used the the Gyeon Ceramic Detailer . Less then $150 bucks and you get up and personal with your truck. 2 years in and it still beads water . The paint correction is fairly easy using the random orbital polisher lots of youtube videos and unlike the rotary buffers won't burn your paint.

I’ve used chemical guys ceramic gel coat (also tried their spray) after washing my vehicles. That stuff works great and I apply it every 6 months. I believe that majority of a detailers cost is in the paint correction since that is a time consuming process with multiple steps to polishing and buffing the vehicle

It’s not the ceramic coating that intimidates me as much as doing the paint correction, but I maybe over estimating the difficulty. Is it possible to do both without a garage?
Eh...no garage makes it almost impossible unless you can find some kind of tent or shaded area to work in. The paint correction isn't difficult either so long as you have the right equipment. Also, paint correction is not a 100% must; it does make the paint look better and since you're locking the finish in with a coating, it's nice to have, but not 100% necessary if you can live with your paint's current condition.
