Caliper covers / Powder coat / paint or Red aftermarket calipers?

Decisions Decisions: Paint or Aluminum Covers. Will decide soon.
I was on the fence but after seeing some report fitment issues with the covers and factory wheels I tried the paint. I have 18” wheels, however I think the offsets of the factory wheels create a tight fit with the added thickness of the covers. I didn’t do a deep dive into that claim though. More work for sure to paint with prep and all. Much cheaper to paint but that doesn’t account for the value of your time.

I’ll talk to the company before ordering. I really don’t have the time to paint and rather install something that does not need ongoing maintenance such as a need to reapply paint after x years.

Well after some deliberation, I ended up ordering covers from MGP. Installed them today while rotating the tires.
Turned out quite nice, in my opinion. Install was simple. I have the 20” wheels on mine. No issues with clearance with the stock wheels.
Now to pay the piper and get some black lug nuts…🤪

is the AT4 on the calipers, a sticker?
I contemplating Yellow Calipers. I wonder if they'd standout.

It is engraved into the aluminum. MGP has lots of customization options for colors and engravings. Received them quicker than anticipated too!
I took a look at my AEV SALTA wheels, they have a pretty full pattern and calipers colors may barely show through. I'm a stickler about keeping them polished, shiny and dust free and dust over capliers may drive me insane; need to reconsider calipers now..... :(

Following caliper installation, did you notice any reduction in brake dust spreading to your wheels? I tend to clean, well dust off at least the wheels, after the truck is driven.

I'm the odd man: Not to detract from the clean black look of my shining AEV wheels, I ordered plain black caliper covers from MGP. Decided I didn't want to see anything other than black and calipers will 'hopefully' help reduce spreading brake dust over the wheels; it will surely provide some cleaning relief. ;) We will see how they look and perform.

Sorry for delayed response. Haven’t noticed much difference yet re the brake dust, but haven’t driven much. Will watch. Those AEV’s will look cool with black behind!
They claim the covers reduce dust on the wheels, so here is hoping!

What helps with brake dust is either different pads or ceramic coat your wheels to reduce the amount of dust sticking and ease of maintenance.

I have tremendous success with brake dust reduction with Akebono brake pads on my Mercedes however admit their bite is not as aggressive.
